Now that you have had a small glimpse of  our Monkey Toddler Costume website I would like to introduce you to the world of real monkeys.

Monkeys are found in Japan, Africa, and Southeast Asia.  They like to live in the tropical rainforest.    Most monkeys hold onto the branches with their feet and hands.  Some monkeys use their tails to hold onto the branches also.

Monkeys travel in groups called troops.  They help each other find food.  Infants are helpless at birth.  The mother lets the baby climb on her back.  So the baby can cling on and go for a ride.  The babies love to play together.

Monkeys communicate well together.  They have cute facial expressions.  Monkeys show affection by grooming each other.  They are very cute and lovable.

Some monkeys are kept as pets.  Some monkeys can be trained to help people who are disabled. They are taken into homes when they are infants to be trained.  They get used to living with a family.

They go through extensive training before they go into a disabled person’s home.  This training usually takes about seven years.They can serve twenty five to thirty years. They can help this person in many ways.  They can do household chores, open drink bottles for them, microwave their food and many other simple tasks.

Monkeys eat many things.  They like fruit, seeds, leaves, nuts, and eggs.  They like a lot of the things that we like to eat.  Monkeys are really fun to play with and make good pets, but they do require a great deal of care.
